Suffering Because I Have a Purpose: “I’m Strong When I am Weak”

Your purpose is bigger than what you’re going through. Sometimes the season you are going through feels unbearable. You have cried endless nights, you have been restless for a long time. You have wondered if the Father is listening to your plea for help and to restore your life to a place of joy, fulfillment, laughter, love and increase. You have been in this season so long you feel barren and hopeless.

“More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.” Romans 5:3-5 ESV

Reflections James 1:2-4

Sister you are not forgotten and you are not alone though you feel it to be true. The enemy wants you to give up and believe that there is no hope because if he destroys that in you he knows you will give up on the Father. He is the thief of hope and the destination of kill and destroy. Hold on a little longer, the Father knows what we can handle and what we cannot. He is not ignoring your cry. For he has cried himself on the cross but his purpose was bigger than his suffering in that moment of crucifixion. You may have heard it before “pain to purpose,” it is not a saying we like to hear and it is one we rebuke. But I call you to remember the cross, it is through suffering, through pressure that we build strength.

If we never went through anything what would faith look like to us? What would appreciation for the Father look like? If you never had to get down on your knees and cry out to the Father, you may just think you navigate life by your own doing. We understand humility, long-suffering, love, peace, kindness, faithfulness, self-control, and gentleness because we are put to the test to build up these traits. How do children in the natural world learn? They are taught, and they go through experiences in life to show them the way. So, far be it that the Father not to teach his children? You must develop your character and your intimacy with the Father. The more you draw near to him, and receive the knowledge of him---your circumstances, though challenging will become lighter over time. You will build up strength to endure it and you build up character to face it. Once you learn how to be in suffering with the Father because he is there, you will no longer feel hopeless you will know that you are not broken. You will know that strength comes from the Lord. You will know he can and will pull you out of it at the right time. He is preparing you for the call.

Have you ever gone through something and found yourself praying more? Doing more of what you felt called to do in life? Has that season produced something in you? What is different about you now? Take an inventory and consider if you truly believe the Father has left you or if he’s desired for you to draw near? He does not leave us…we often separate from him and it is easy to do in suffering but I ask you sister to strengthen your relationship with him while you’re suffering and watch what the Father will do.

A good friend helped me while enduring a very challenging time in my life. She asked me to find one verse and memorize it in the bible. Somehow after that I end up creating this blog. You never know what God is doing in you or through you.

Prayer Heavenly Father I am struggling right now. It seems as though it is not getting better. My heart and mind are arrested and I find myself feeling hopeless and restless. Father I need a change in my spirit and I call out to you to hear my cry! Forgive me Father for having a spirit of give up because I know you are there with me. Even if you can not remove the trial right now Father give me strength to endure it. Reveal to me in your word the purpose for this season. Heal my heart where it feels broken. Mend my life back to wholeness that I may go out and speak my testimony Father. I release my anxiety to you, I release my sadness to you, I ask Father that you restore me and in due time this season will end. Until then Father restore a hope inside of me to press onward and to remember that you are building me up. I am not being torn down. I am being purposed for your will to be done. ~ Amen
